MKLA CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIES
What is Creative Arts Therapies
Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) is an experiential psychotherapy. My therapeutic approach is multimodal and CAT sessions may include visual arts, drawing, writing, sand, clay and movement.
I am passionate about maintaining a person centred, safe, supportive, and non-judgemental creative space, to explore and express unconscious material that may be difficult to articulate in words.
CAT sessions aim to explore thoughts, feelings, and emotions to increase resilience, reduce emotional distress, improve self-esteem/confidence, identify coping skills and assist with dysregulation.
No artistic skill is required — it’s about the process, not the product.
